My 2019 New Year’s Resolutions!

As hinted in a previous post, I will be sharing my New Year’s Resolutions (wow so fun)!

Last year, I didn’t really have very specific goals nor did I have much of a motivation to meet them.

This year will be different though. I say that because my goals aren’t exactly “new”. Some of them are already part of my life in some way and it is mostly improvement that I am striving for.

I will reach my weight goal.

No ifs, buts and maybes for this one. A whole year is more than enough time to lose the amount of weight I am going for, which is around 25 lbs.

By making sure I am able to exercise regularly and eat well despite my busy Spring schedule, I know this is perfectly attainable.

My blog and video updates will improve.

I was pretty good in 2018 regarding my blog updates, but there is still so much room for improvement.

The goal is to upload an article twice a week and to have at least one longer feature article per month. The video requirement is one per month.

I know that I may struggle with this one (especially since I am already failing lol) but I will always aim for the target number of updates instead of setting the bar low.

I will learn how to draw.

I’ve actually already started on this one (check out my Instagram highlight to view my progress). I am learning some basic drawing skills as of the moment and I’d really like to be able to draw more complex things.

I may not have as much time to work on this compared to my other objectives but I will find ways to make time for it once in a while.

I will not lose my cool in stressful situations.

Admittedly, I haven’t been the best at dealing with stress. It’s a little disappointing because I sometimes fret over things that are trivial or tasks that are perfectly doable.

This is probably my most important goal this year: No matter what and how long it takes, I will learn to handle situations more maturely and more confidently.

My handmade messy cards will make a comeback.

It often takes me ages to produce anything decent, but making handmade cards has always been such an invigorating activity for me.

Plus, it is a pretty good stress reliever and a way to show friends you care about them. So whenever I give a gift to someone, there will always be a handmade card to go with it from now on!

I have other goals in mind that I wanted to include here, but I only wanted to identify a number of objectives that I can focus on and are outside of “university requirements”.

The thought of not completely meeting my goals doesn’t discourage me so long as there are observable improvements. To be honest, I’m feeling pretty nervous about these resolutions but I’m honestly really excited to see what I can achieve this year.

Let me know how you think I’ll do — and good luck with your resolutions!
